Assigning Conditions

Display conditions control where each Theme Builder template appears on your site. A template without at least one condition is saved but invisible on the front end. Assign conditions after building the template to publish it to specific pages, post types, categories, or your entire site.

What are conditions

Conditions tell Protuno where a template should appear. A header might show on all pages. A Single Product template might show only for products in a specific category.

Without at least one condition assigned, a template is saved but invisible on the front end.

Opening conditions

From Protuno → Theme Builder (Grid view), hover over any template and click Conditions. You can also set conditions immediately after saving a template for the first time.

Adding a condition

1. Click Add Condition.
2. Choose Include or Exclude.
3. Select the scope from the dropdown.
4. If the scope requires a specific target (a post, page, or category), select it in the second field.
5. Click Save.

Include vs Exclude

You can combine includes and excludes on the same template for fine-grained control.

Scope options

Example: global header except on checkout

1. Add Include → Entire Site
2. Add Exclude → Single Page → select your Checkout page

Example: different header for the shop

1. Create two Header templates, one general, one for the shop.
2. General header: Include → Entire Site
3. Shop header: Include → Products Archive (this more specific condition wins on the shop page)

Condition priority

When two templates of the same type have overlapping conditions, the more specific condition wins. A template assigned to a specific post takes priority over one assigned to all posts.
